Have you registered a Lasting Power of Attorney between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2017? If so you may be entitled to a refund.

Did you register a Lasting Power of Attorney or Enduring Power of Attorney between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2017? If so you may be entitled to a refund

A substantial increase in people applying to register Powers of Attorney resulted in the Office of the Public Guardian’s (OPG’s) process becoming more efficient which resulted in lower operation costs and on 1st April 2017 the application fee was reduced from £110 to £82.

The OPG has launched a refund scheme for those who paid a higher fee in the qualifying period (1st April 2013 to 31st March 2017). If you, or someone you are acting for, thinks they may be eligible please visit www.gov.uk/power-of-attorney-refund for more details and to make a claim or call the OPG’s contact centre on 0300 456 0300.

If you need to speak to someone about Powers of Attorney please contact Heppenstalls Solicitors on 01590 689500 or 01425 610078
